Since 2024, the Society of Mediation Professionals (SMP) and the International Commercial Mediation Center for the Belt and Road (BNRMC) have operated under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), driven by a shared commitment to advancing the field of mediation and expanding world-class training opportunities.

In a recent session, Lim Tat highlighted the comparative advantages of mediation over arbitration, exploring the unique nuances and emerging convergence between Eastern and Western mediation traditions. Complementing this, Linda Heng addressed the core competencies essential for modern mediators, focusing on critical problem-solving, process management, and interpersonal skills. Through a blend of communication techniques, practical negotiation exercises, and immersive simulations, participants successfully bridged the gap between theory and real-world practice.

Beyond training qualified practitioners, this partnership aspires to nurture visionary peacemakers dedicated to making meaningful, lasting contributions to global peace-building efforts.
