Mediation Experience
Dr. Ng’s journey as a mediator started by an invitation from the Ministry of Health that he attend a course in the Singapore Mediation Center (SMC) and be trained as a mediator. He became an Associate Mediator (SMC) in 2010, Principal Mediator (SMC) in 2014, and Magistrate Complaints Mediator, later renamed as Volunteer State Court Mediator in 2015. His mediation experience now is mainly in the area of medical complaints and magistrate complaints, but in the past has even done divorce cases and financial cases, co-mediating with lawyers and accountants.
Career Background
Acquired the qualifications as a haematologist, and held various teaching posts including Senior Lectureship at University College Hospital Medical School, London University, and Hong Kong University. Began private practice at Mt. Elizabeth Hospital, Orchard Road since 1984. Between 1994 – 1999, was a member of the Singapore National Medical Research Council, and now a member of the Central Internal Review Board of SingHealth group. The Board’s duty being to examine research projects to ensure they abide by the ethical guidelines and regulations regarding medical research.
