Katherine is an accomplished mediator with over 14 years of experience in resolving community, social, and relational disputes across Singapore. She serves as an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC), a Master Mediator with the Community Mediation Centre (CMC), and a certified Mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI).
Actively presiding over mediation cases at the CMC, Katherine is dedicated to helping residents reach constructive and amicable resolutions. Beyond practice, she passionately promotes mediation among young people, regularly engaging law students to nurture the next generation of mediators. As one of the key judges in the national Inter-Mediation Skills (IMSG) competition, she contributes to cultivating aspiring mediators across Singapore.
Katherine is deeply drawn to mediation for its collaborative, solution-oriented approach to conflict resolution. She believes that “mediation teaches patience, empathy, and attentiveness to others’ interests—it is often the most dignified path to harmony.
Career Background
Katherine is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rafa Mediation Pte Ltd, where she continues to advance the practice and accessibility of mediation services. Previously, she served as the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer of Maxwell Chambers, where she played a pivotal role in its establishment in 2009 as the world’s first integrated Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) complex. She subsequently led the expansion and launch of Maxwell Chambers Suites in 2019, strengthening Singapore’s position as an international hub for dispute resolution.
With over 17 years of leadership experience, Katherine has an extensive background in driving strategic growth, leading organizational transformation, and championing innovation within the ADR sector.
